Metal Buildings 12 gauge vs. 14 gauge

Updated: Nov 8, 2023

Welcome to Pro Metal Building's blog!

Hello there potential customer. Thank you for finding your way to our blog. Here we want to be informative when it comes to your purchase for a Carport or Metal Building. If you are interested in us putting out specific information, please contact us directly, we are always happy to make sure that your carport or metal building purchase is exactly what you want.

Metal Buildings 12 gauge vs. 14 gauge

Our typical Carport or Metal Building comes with a 14 gauge tubing for the frame of your building. The 14 gauge is 2 1/2" in square diameter. Wider in circumference than the 12 gauge but the 14 gauge typically does not come with the rust warranty. It is strong enough for most buildings across the nation but some customers like the upgraded 12 gauge frame. The 12 gauge is 2 1/4" in square diameter and comes with a 20 year rust warranty. It has more galvanized steel and packs a bigger punch in a smaller diameter. We recommend the 12 gauge if you are placing your carport or metal building near salty air.

We deliver and install carports, metal buildings, barns, leans, warehouses and RV Covers, across the nation. The upgraded cost would depend upon the length of your building. You can inquire when you talk with one of our sales people at Pro Metal Buildings. We will be making short, Youtube video's on this where we will show what each gauge looks like, etc.
